Contributed by: News Canada (NC) - Looking for a way to escape holiday crowds and traffic? Turn to the kitchen for gift-giving inspiration. Spend some relaxing time making heart-of-the-home gifts that show you care. Try this decoration idea for your table-top Christmas Tree. This is for decoration only and is not edible.
Preparation
Meringue Powder Royal Frosting
In a bowl, beat meringue powder with water until combined. Gradually beat in icing sugar until very stiff, about 4 minutes. Cover with damp cloth to prevent drying out. Makes about 1 - 1 1/2 cups (375 ml). Drying time, during the application of the frosting on the Styrofoam is approximately 1/2 hour after frosting is applied. Allow the bottom third layer to harden so that you have a solid foundation for the middle and top portions of the tree. This frosting will act as a coating in which to secure these Christmas candies. Christmas Candies and Jelly Belly jelly beans are used to decorate this tree. Bottom Third (Begin with the bottom layer first)
