Creating Festive Drinks With That Extra Touch

(NC) - The holiday season is a popular time to bring together family and friends for a festive party. Canadian Tire has some tips to help make your drinks more festive and add that special touch that will set your holiday party apart from other get-togethers.
It’s all in the glass
- When preparing your shopping
list, be sure to include an assortment of drinks that offer your guests some
choice and include beverages often associated with the holidays like eggnog,
hot cider or mulled wine
- For a festive colour, add a
splash of grenadine to your punch or add green or red food colouring to your
ice cubes before you freeze them
- For a fun twist, freeze ice
cubes in holiday-shaped ice cube trays
Garnish It
- Cinnamon sticks add delicious
flavour to hot cider and also fill the room with a wonderful, warm scent
- Cranberries on a toothpick make
a colourful holiday garnish for cold drinks
- Tie some holiday ribbon or a
decoration around the stem of the glass
Greeting
guests with this hot cider recipe will take the chill out and make friends and
family comfortable and cozy.
Hot Mulled Cider
- 1 jug apple cider
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 orange
- 1 lemon
- 15 - 20 cloves
- one bag cinnamon sticks
Combine
all ingredients (except for the cinnamon sticks) and heat on stove for 20 to 30
minutes. Add a cinnamon stick to each mug and serve.
