(NC) - With the growing trend to more frequent snacking, it's no surprise that Canada is becoming a nation of dippers since dips encourage us to eat healthy fruits and vegetables more often. According to ACNielsen, refrigerated dip sales in Canada grew by 6 per cent in 2004.
To compliment this growing trend, Renee's Gourmet, Canada's leading manufacturer of refrigerated dressings, sauces and marinades has introduced a new line of refrigerated dips perfect for everyday snacking and casual entertaining.
"Our new dips are made with the freshest, highest-quality and tastiest ingredients," says Renee Unger, president and founder of Renee's Gourmet. "The flavours were developed to satisfy the cravings of both children and adult dippers - we wanted to make dipping fun!
There are five savoury vegetable dips: Southwestern Chipotle, Garden Ranch, Creamy Curry, Cucumber Dill and Pesto Caesar and two mouthwatering fruit dips: Apple Cinnamon and White Chocolate Cheesecake. Both have a suggested retail price of $3.49 and are available in the refrigerated section of the produce department.
In addition to raw veggies, the vegetable dips are ideal with:
- chicken fingers
- tortilla chips, pita or other specialty breads
- calamari, shrimp or fish sticks
- topping baked potatoes
The fruit dips are delicious with:
- fresh cut fruit and berries
- warmed up as a topping for ice cream
- pancakes or waffles
