But the king of all Tampa eats is the Cuban sandwich, which the Columbia Restaurant has been serving since its days as a lunch spot for Ybor City's cigar factory workers. This year, the restaurant celebrates 100 years of fine Spanish/Cuban cuisine. Ingredients:
Directions: Slice bread down middle lengthwise. Layer ingredients to cover bottom half of bread in the following order: ham, pork, salami, cheese and pickles. Spread mustard on top half of bread. Cover bottom half and slice sandwich diagonally. Heat in oven or serve at room temperature. |
