Contributed by: NAPSA Slim Down Your Holiday Dishes by Mindy Hermann, R.D. (NAPSA) - I love holiday foods like pumpkin pie and candied sweet potatoes. But as I get older, I'm noticing that I have to pay more attention to what I eat during the holidays - gaining weight is all too easy. That is why I love tips for slimming down holiday dishes without giving up flavor or tradition. Here are a few of my favorites:
Ingredients:
Directions: Heat oven to 350 F. In ungreased 8 - inch square baking dish, place sweet potatoes, apple slices and apple juice. Cover with foil. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until apples are tender. In medium bowl, stir together butter and brown sugar; stir in cereal and pecans until well coated. Uncover sweet potato mixture; sprinkle with cereal mixture. Bake uncovered 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
