Prairie Barbecue Marinade

Contributed by: News Canada

By Anita Stewart

(NC) - This is my kind of marinade. Open a bottle of beer, measure enough for the marinade and drink the rest.

This recipe is taken from Anita Stewart's Canada: The Food, The Recipes, The Stories (HarperCollins Canada 2008).

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp canola oil 30 mL
  • 1/4 cup beer 50 mL
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey 30 mL
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 60 mL
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper 5 mL

Directions:

Combine canola oil, beer, honey, mustard and pepper. Mix well. Excellent for pork chops.

Serving Size: Makes 2/3 Cup (150 mL)
