Barbecue With A Brew This Summer!

(NC) - For Canadians who spend half the year looking forward to summer, barbecues are a great way to spend time with friends and enjoy the outdoors. Steaks, chicken, hamburgers, grilled vegetables and a cold drink are all among the staples of a Canadian grill. Recently, though, backyard chefs are finding their favourite drink goes as well in their barbecued food as it does in the cooler.

Premium domestic beers, such as Labatt Blue, are not just great to drink but are also perfect complements to summer recipes. Brewed with the highest quality natural ingredients, beer can enhance the flavours of most dishes. Labatt Blue, for instance, is made with a blend of malted Canadian barleys and the German hop, Hallertau, which give dishes a clean and crisp, malty flavouring.

So, for easy, yet delicious ways to entertain and impress friends, why not try recipes like this simple one for a Labatt Blue Beef Marinade.

Mix the following ingredients:

  • 2 bottles Labatt Blue
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic

Beer acts as an excellent beef tenderizer. For best results, use enough marinade to cover beef and leave to marinate for 24 - 28 hours.

Simply add your favourite brew to your cooking menu and enjoy what cooking with beer has to offer.
