Contributed by: News Canada Kitchen Fiesta with the Kids (NC) - Moms know it's often hard to get kids to eat healthy and unique foods. Smell, texture and, of course, distinct taste can often discourage unrefined palates from trying something new. But it doesn't have to be a battle. By getting the kids involved with preparation they'll know exactly what they're eating and feel a sense of achievement. By using trusted ingredients in unexpected ways, like Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal, you know they're eating something they like.
This simple recipe is not only delicious, but fun to eat. Kids will enjoy the break from conventional table manners and relish the fact that it's finally polite to eat with their hands. Ingredients:
Optional Toppings:
Directions: In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until meat is browned. Stir in corn, tomatoes, ketchup, cereal and seasonings. Simmer over low heat about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Warm tortillas in oven or microwave. Spoon 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the meat mixture onto each tortilla. Add toppings. Serve immediately.
