(NAPSA) - If you want the scoop on a fun-filled activity for the family, you may want to take a lick at an ice cream contest that could win you a delightful ice cream getaway.
Ice cream lovers can dig into the contest by creating a one-of-a-kind spoon that reflects their unique ice cream style. The creators of the winning designs will join John Harrison, Dreyer's/ Edy's Grand Ice Cream's Official Ice Cream Taster, on a De-LIGHT-ful ice cream getaway.
"As Ice Cream Taster, it's my job to make sure that every spoonful of ice cream-from Vanilla to Rocky Road-is as rich, sweet and creamy as it can be," said Harrison. "This year, I'm challenging our nation's biggest ice cream aficionados to rival my famous gold-plated tasting spoon with their own imaginative designs."
The spoon contest is open to all ages (a kids division-children ages 6-14; and an adults division-ages 15 and up) and spoons may be submitted in any of the following categories:
LIGHTEST Spoon: the "lightest" spoon might be covered in feathers or sport wings
RICHEST Spoon: perhaps this spoon is covered with gold, silver and other jewels
Most UNBELIEVABLE Spoon: decorate your spoon in a dazzling and outrageous design.
Contestants must submit their actual spoon (photos will not be accepted) and an official entry form to Dreyer's/Edy's De-LIGHT-ful Spoon Contest, 5929 College Avenue, Oakland, CA 94618. Entries must be postmarked by September 15, 2004. Complete contest rules and official entry forms are available at www.icecream.com or by calling (877) 437-3937 west of the Rockies and 888-590-3397 east of the Rockies.
Dreyer's/Edy's will select a winning entry from the kids division and another from the adults division in each of the three categories based on creativity, fit with chosen category and originality of the spoons.
The six winners will travel, along with a guest of each one's choosing, on a De-LIGHT-ful Ice Cream Getaway-an all-expenses- paid trip to a Dreyer's/Edy's Ice Cream Factory, where they will put their taste buds to the test. Winners also get a year's supply of new Slow Churned(tm) Dreyer's/Edy's Grand Light(r) Ice Cream (via 26 ice cream certificates). To learn more, visit www.icecream.com.
