Essentials For Entertaining Outdoors In An Instant

(NAPSA) - There are easy ways to cool off and partake in one of America's favorite pastimes-dining outdoors. Whether it's a barbeque or a picnic, keep the menu simple and fun so that you have more time to share with your guests.

Be prepared: stock up on basic everyday ingredients that will help pull together that perfect outdoor fete in an instant. In the freezer, keep meat, chicken and appetizers. Stock up on pantry items like chips, pretzels, nuts, cookies and beverages. Another great idea is to always have instant coffee on hand-it is convenient and can be mixed with cold water to make a great tasting iced coffee without brewing. For the freshest taste, replace your instant coffee at least every six months. Chilled coffee on a warm day will help your guests stay cool and refreshed. Maxwell House Instant Coffee makes a delicious iced drink that is effortless and enjoyable; just add one to two teaspoons to a glass of cold water with ice cubes. It is also a wonderful ingredient for desserts; one that everyone may enjoy is:

  • 1 pkg. (11.1 oz.) JELL-O No Bake Real Cheesecake
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 tsp. MAXWELL HOUSE Instant Coffee
  • 11/2 cups cold milk
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)

Mix crumbs, sugar and butter thoroughly with fork until crumbs are well moistened. Press onto bottoms of 12 paper-lined muffin cups.

Dissolve coffee in milk. Beat milk mixture, filling mix and cinnamon with electric mixer on low speed until blended. Beat on medium speed 3 minutes. (Filling will be thick.) Spoon over crumb mixture in muffin cups.

Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve. Store leftover cheesecakes in refrigerator.

An outdoor setting for a party provides many options for styling and entertaining. String festive lights across your patio, place candles on tables in seating areas and incorporate fresh flowers that complement the place settings and food.

Prep Time: 20 min. - Total Time: 1 hr. 20 min.
