Turkey a la King

Serve finger foods with all the right nutrients (NC) - Thanksgiving always means hours of preparation; setting the table, getting the turkey ready, etc. To make sure your family is snacking on nutritious finger foods, set up a nice centre piece of fresh mushrooms, bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, celery and other delicious vegetables. Raw mushrooms are crisp and tasty, a great way to prep your guests for a fantastic Thanksgiving meal.

Turkey a la King
Quick & Easy Recipes: Hooray for left over turkey (NC) - It's October and Thanksgiving has arrived. The leaves have turned to vibrant oranges and reds, Halloween candy is in the stores and families are gearing up for the much awaited turkey feast. If you have leftover turkey, here is a simple recipe we have created for you and your family to enjoy.

For a quick, easy way to make a delicious family supper using leftover Thanksgiving turkey, Turkey a la King is the answer.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes - Baking Time: 15 minutes

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 250 mL
  • 1 cup turkey gravy 250 mL
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced 250 grams
  • 3-4 cups leftover turkey pieces, chopped 750 mL- 1 L
  • 6 ready to bake puff pastry shells 6

In a large pot, heat equal parts of cream of mushroom soup and left over gravy over medium heat. Next, saute sliced mushrooms in a pan and add to pot. Add cooked turkey pieces and heat it all together. During cook time, place puff pastry shells in oven. When both are done, fill puff pastry shells with mix and serve.

Optional: For added flavour, add red bell peppers to the mix.
