Tablescape Ideas For Thanksgiving

Contributed by: News Canada

(NC) - While the turkey will always be the centrepiece of your table at Thanksgiving, try breaking from tradition and updating dinner by choosing a new theme. Designer Karl Lohnes suggests three unique ways to update your Thanksgiving dinner:

Tablescape Ideas For Thanksgiving
Playful Floral:

Place your tried-and-true Butterball Frozen Whole Turkey on a traditional china platter in the centre of the table, but use the pattern on the china for decorating inspiration: colours, floral, gold or silver edging. Take inspiration from these elements and add them to the table - it's an inexpensive way to update old china and add a whimsical flair. Accessorize your existing china with napkins, coloured glasses, vases, or candles and add a special touch to your table with unexpected flowers, like calla lilies or peonies.

Exotic Mediterranean:

"Spanish tapas-style dinners are very hot right now," says Lohnes. "Each dinner item on the menu is served on a small side dish and garnished impeccably." For larger feasts, choose three Butterball Turkey Breast Roasts and place on individual cake plates down the centre of the table for a dramatic effect. Set the tone with flamenco music and jewel-toned tabletop accessories.

Modern Minimalist:

"Think hotel-style," says Lohnes. "Crisp, white linens, white dinnerware and lots of silver" Place a Butterball Boneless Turkey Breast or Stuffed Whole Turkey on a sleek, clean-lined silver platter. Place white roses in bud vases at either end of the table alongside votive candles for a subtly stylish table.
