(NC) - May 5 is one of Mexico's biggest holidays. For Canadians, it's an excuse to get a jump on summer entertaining. And what would a traditional fiesta be without the perfect margarita, one of the summer's most popular cocktails.
Salvador Huerta, a well-known restaurateur in Mexico has developed his special recipe to ensure that patrons are served a consistently authentic margarita, made with the freshest limes and agave, no matter which of his many popular restaurants they dine in. Now Salvador takes the guess work and time out of making an authentic margarita here in Canada with his Salvador's Original Margarita, available in the Party Zone (where else?) in LCBO stores across Ontario and Quebec. The best part is, the tequila is already in it. All you need to add is your imagination, pour over ice and get back to the fiesta.
The Perfect (and Simplest) Margarita Ever
- 5 oz Salvador's Original Margarita
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lime garnish
- Sea salt for rimming
Rim margarita glass with fresh lime then dip in coarse sea salt. Pour Salvador's Original Margarita on the rocks. Add juice of fresh lime for extra tartness. Serve with a lime wedge and the sounds of a mariachi band. Experiment with seasonal berries and fruit to make your own signature margarita. Try adding cranberry or raspberry juice to Salvador's Original Margarita for a different delicious taste sensation.

Easy Dessert Margarita
Pretty and easy to prepare, this light summer dessert is sure to be a hit with guests on Cinco de Mayo, or any other day.
- Lime or assorted flavoured sorbet
- 1 -2 ounces of chilled Salvador's Original Margarita
- Fresh berries and mint to garnish
Scoop out your favourite flavoured sorbet and serve in a parfait dish or margarita glass. Just before serving pour the Salvador's Margarita over the sorbet. Garnish with fresh berries and a mint sprig.
