Easier Holiday Baking
(NAPSA) - If you're a holiday baker you've got plenty of company in the kitchen. The holidays are some of the most popular times for people to bake delicious treats-but they're some of the busiest times too.
That's why it's a good idea to find ways to save time when baking this season. Fortunately, a number of tricks of the trade are available-whether you're baking cookies, cakes or pies.
For instance, Hershey recently introduced a holiday line of its Hershey's(r) Kisses(r) brand milk chocolates that are unwrapped and recipe ready. They can save home cooks time and make baking less work-especially if your recipe calls for lots of Kisses(r) milk chocolates, like this classic recipe below:
Ingredients:
- 48 Unwrapped HERSHEY'S KISSES(r) brand Milk Chocolates
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup REESE'S(r) Peanut Butter
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 11/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Granulated sugar
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 F. Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
Serving Size: About 4 Dozen Cookies
