Contributed by: News Canada (NC) - Great recipe for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This sandwich provides 3 out of 4 food groups from Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating. Just add juice or a fruit or vegetable and you have a 'perfect' meal. Ingredients:
Directions: Spread mustard over 4 slices of the bread. Top each with ham slice; sprinkle evenly with cheese. Press remaining bread over top. In pie plate, wisk together eggs, milk and salt. Add 1 of the sandwiches; let soak for 1 minute. Using lifter or spatula, turn sandwich over; let soak for 1 minute. Repeat with remaining sandwiches. In large skillet, melt butter over medium heat; cook sandwiches for about 3 minutes per side or until golden and cheese is melted. Serving Size: Makes 4 servings Nutritional Information: Per serving: About 428 cal., 22g pro, 23g total fat (12g sat. fat), 35g carb, 6g fibre, 172 mg chol, 1095 mg sodium, % RDI: 27% calcium, 19% iron, 20% vit A, 19% folate. |
