What you will need:

  • 1 tsp (5 mL) butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 slice processed cheese
  • 1 whole wheat hamburger bun

In skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Break egg into skillet. With spatula, break yolk and mix a bit with the white. Season with salt and pepper. When egg is set, turn and cook briefly on the second side.

Place cheese slice on a warmed or toasted bun. Top with cooked egg and close bun. If desired, add cooked mushrooms, red or green peppers, sliced tomatoes or crisp bacon to zest up your burger.
