Contributed by: News Canada

(NC) - The challenge of any good host is finding recipes that all their guests will love. Whether hosting a sports-themed get-together or an all-girls fete, the trick is to serve a versatile and tasty dish that can be enjoyed several ways.

Chicken Skewers with Thai Chili Sauce
Chicken skewers are an easy-to-prepare party hit because they are great on their own as finger food or can easily become the main feature in a crowd-pleasing sandwich. Add a twist to this much-loved party favourite by adding Thai-inspired VH Sweet Thai Chili Sauce.

Prep Time: 15 minutes - Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lb ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup VH Sweet Thai Chili sauce (plus extra for pitas)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp VH soya sauce
  • 8 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 20 minutes

Directions:

Pita bread, shredded lettuce, diced tomato and slivered onion for garnishing

Mix the chicken, cilantro, VH Sweet Thai Chili sauce, bread crumbs, egg and VH soya sauce until well combined.

Form 8 equal portions onto skewers and form into a sausage-like shape, covering the pointed end of skewer.

Roast skewers on a foil lined baking sheet in a 500F oven for 20 minutes or until cooked through.

Serve with additional chili sauce for dipping or serve in warmed pita bread garnished with shredded lettuce, diced tomato and slivered onion.
