Despite this, almost a third of Canadians feel that they aren't living a balanced life, according to the Country Harvest +Plus Balance Index, a survey conducted by Angus Reid Strategies.
"Eating well fits into the overall formula for living life to the fullest," says nutrition expert Isabelle Huot, PhD. "A healthy diet not only nourishes the body, but it also nourishes the mind and soul, giving you the energy you need." Huot recommends choosing foods that are high in nutritional value. When choosing breads, for instance, look for products that are a source of omega-3, made with 100 per cent whole grains and deliver twice the amount of fibre, iron and folate (folic acid), and great taste, such as new Country Harvest +Plus.
