Good health is greatly dependent on good eating habits the Japanese say - and that is why in Japan, a cup of miso soup in the morning is the right way to start the day.
"One of the unique features of miso is its universal suitability to any kind of food including vegetables, meat, fish, shell fish, and seaweed," says Ken Horisaki, spokesperson for JC Creative Foods, a leader in exotic-gourmet sauces and dressings. "Our Pepper Miso sauce for example perks up beef entrees, with no MSG, no cholesterol and no transfats." The Shiro Miso mingles perfectly with seafood, and here is a sensational chicken stir-fry recipe using the Orange Miso sauce: Ingredients:
Directions: Marinate the chicken breasts in a 1/4 cup of Orange Miso sauce. In a pot, bring water to a boil, add the broccoli and carrots and boil for about 2 minutes. Drain water. In a frying pan, melt butter and cook the marinated chicken thoroughly. Add the mushrooms, red and green peppers, carrots, and broccoli in that order. Remove from heat. Add and toss another 1/4 cup Orange Miso and transfer to a plate. Serving Size: Makes 4 Servings |
