Wacky Waikiki Shakes

Contributed by: News Canada

Drink your ice cream this summer

(NC) - On a hot summer day, nothing hits the spot better than an icy, thick, frosty milkshake. While it may be easy to drop by a café or fast food joint to get your milkshake hit, Breyers Ice Cream (www.homebasics.ca) invites you to pull out the blender and create your own concoctions. You don't have to be a wizard in the kitchen to make masterful milkshakes. And if you're bored with chocolate and vanilla, try one of these exotic new takes on the shake.

    Wacky Waikiki Shakes
  • 2 large ripe bananas, peeled and quartered
  • 1 can frozen pineapple or pineapple- orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 scoops Breyers All Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
  • whipped cream, toasted coconut and pineapple pieces

Place bananas, juice concentrate and milk in blender container or food processor bowl. Cover and blend until combined. Add ice cream; blend until smooth. Pour into glasses. Top with whipped cream, coconut and pineapple. Serve immediately.
