Spanish Julep

(NC) - Valentine's Day is not just for lovers, it is a
chance for friends to get more acquainted and just like other matchmakers we know and love, it
may also be the perfect time to encourage a budding romance, or two. So if you have plans to
throw a cocktail party, here are a few tried-and-true recipes from a very good source.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2oz. (40 mL) brandy
- 1/4 oz. (7 mL) strawberry liqueur
- 1 tbs. sugar syrup
- 3 oz. (75 mL) chilled Spanish sparkling wine, like Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut or the extra
dry, Carta Nevada Brut Mint sprigs
Directions:
In the bottom of a glass, crush the mint sprigs into the syrup. Fill
with crushed ice. Add the brandy. Stir in the sparkling wine and garnish with mint sprigs.
