Sweet and Sour Rumaki

Easy and inexpensive hors d'oevres.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • brown sugar
  • 1 package bacon
  • 1 jar sweet and sour sauce

Directions:

Strain the water chestnuts and leave in the colander.

Unwrap the bacon and cut the strips in half across the width. Rub each piece of bacon with ½ teaspoon of brown sugar, and wrap the sugared bacon around a water chestnut.

Secure with a toothpick. When you have made all your Rumaki's carefully broil for about 5 minutes or until the bacon is tender-crisp.

Drain the fat odf the Rumaki and after doing this pour the sweet and sour sauce over the top.

Note:

These can be made early in the day and refridgerated until ready to use, just microwave to warm again.
