Skillet Penne Tomatoes and Cheese

  • 1 lb hot Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Green onions, trimmed and cut into 1-inch diagonal pieces
  • 4 cups cooked penne pasta
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) container Precious Ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup slivered fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


In a large skillet, saute and crumble sausage; add onions and pasta, sauteing until lightly golden. Add drained tomatoes; cook two minutes. Combine cheese and milk; add to pasta mixture, mixing well until evenly coated. Add basil, salt and pepper, and cook for 20 minutes or until heated through.
