Mulled Citrus and Spice Tea

(NC ) - Make this warming drink by the individual mug or in a big batch for a gathering. Mulled Citrus and Spice Tea is a nice, not-too-sweet alternative to mulled cider.

Ingredients:

  • 14 cups hot water 3.5 L
  • 1 1/2 cups Tangerine, Peach or Lemon Nestea(r) Iced Tea Mix 375 mL
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 tsp each ground nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom 1 mL

Directions:

In large stockpot, combine water, iced tea mix, cloves, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom; heat until steaming hot. Steep for 15 minutes before serving. Strain into glasses or mugs.

To Make by the Mug:

Combine 4 tsp (20 mL) iced tea mix, 2 whole cloves and pinch each ground nutmeg, cinnamon and cardamom. Stir in 1 cup (250 mL) boiling water with cinnamon stick.

Tip: To suspend whole cloves, pierce them into an orange slice.
