Dinnertime Solutions For Busy, At-Home Cooks
(NAPSA) - Today, family schedules are dominated by work, doctor appointments, car pools and other activities, prompting consumers to look for easy, budget-friendly and well-balanced solutions to dinnertime at home.
"According to a recent study, the average American family dines out three evenings a week simply due to time constraints and a general love for restaurant food," said Laura Smith Wade, senior home economist for Whirlpool brand. "At-home cooks are looking for tried-and-true solutions that will help them provide creative, well-rounded meals at home in less time."
Additionally, cooking at home can provide benefits including more family time around the dinner table, control over what types of ingredients are used and the opportunity to begin teaching children how to cook. Want another reason to start cooking and stop taking out? The American Dietetic Association recently reported that when families eat together, it is more likely that meals will be healthier and more balanced-with less fat and higher amounts of fiber, minerals and vitamins.
Knowing that families are always looking for fresh meal options, Whirlpool brand and Newman's Own have launched the Let's Eat In recipe contest and easy-to-prepare meal idea collection. Those with great recipe ideas can enter the contest, hosted by Food Network, for a chance to win a Whirlpool brand suite of kitchen appliances and a year's supply of Newman's Own products.
