Chocolate Cherry Cake

This is a very moist and delicious cake. Travels well to family gatherings, picnics, etc.


  • 1 - Duncan Heinz Cake Mix
  • 1 can ( 20 oz ) Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract


Preheat oven 350 degrees, grease 9 x 13 baking pan.

In large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, pie filling, eggs and extract.

Mix on low speed for 1 minute. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or tester comes out clean.

Cool on wire rack. When completely cool, frost with your favorite tub frosting.

Note: I like Betty Crocker Chocolate or Cream Cheese frosting.
