- 3/4 cup short grain rice (175 mL)
- 6 Lipton Green Tea Bags, divided (6)
- 2 1/4 cups boiling water (550 mL)
- 2 cups milk (500 mL)
- 1 1/2 cups cream (375 mL)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (125 mL)
Place 4 of the tea bags in the boiling water and steep for 3 minutes. Remove the tea bags and add the steeped water to the rice in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and cover with a lid. Simmer until almost all the liquid is absorbed, approximately 15 minutes. Add the milk, cream and sugar to the rice mixture and stir. Remove the tags from the tea bags and add them to the rice mixture. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Remove the tea bags and reduce the heat to a simmer. Mix every 5 minutes for 30 to 40 minutes until the pudding has a consistency of porridge. Don't over cook. Pudding thickens as it cools. Pour mixture into a bowl. Place plastic wrap on the surface of the pudding to prevent the formation of a skin. Refrigerator overnight.
