Grilled Herb and Garlic Portabellas

Contributed by: News Canada

Preparation Time: 12 minutes

  • 4 large portabella mushrooms (about 4 inch diameter)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
    Grilled Herb and Garlic Portabellas
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp herb and garlic cream cheese

In a small bowl mix together the oil, vinegar and garlic. Let stand.

Clean the portabellas with a small brush, brushing away any debris. If you feel the need to wash them, rinse under cool water and pat dry with a paper towel. Remove the stem.

Brush the entire mushroom with the oil, vinegar mixture and place on the grill. Grill on both sides for approximately 3 to 4 minutes until the mushroom starts to become tender.

Turn the mushroom gill side up and place 1 tablespoon of herb and garlic cream cheese on each cap. Continue to cook until cream cheese is warm as starts to melt.

Remove from grill and serve immediately.
