Sweet Coffee Treats

Contributed by: News Canada

(NC) - At a dinner party, after a family meal, or just as an afternoon holiday treat, why not serve up some sweet treats made with the refined flavor of coffee? Here are a couple of delightful recipes, alongside a valuable tip on coffee cuisine by Tchibo, the No.1 coffee favorite in Europe. Most major Canadian grocery chains now supply the Tchibo line, including Exclusive, Mellow Roast, Rich Roast, and Decaffeinated. Mix and match them to your taste with the recipes below.

Quality Coffee Tip: Hard water affects the flavor of coffee, so it should boil well before use in all methods of brewing. Coffee connoisseurs make sure, however, that the water remains below boiling point once brewing begins. Serve coffee within 30 minutes for optimal taste.

Coffee Amaretto

  • 1 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 shot (3 tbsp) almond liqueur
  • Fresh brewed, Tchibo classic roasted coffee Whipped cream

Pour a shot of coffee liqueur onto a plate. Put cocoa onto another plate. Dip the rim of a heat-resistant glass, or mug, into the coffee liqueur, then into the cocoa. Pour 1 shot coffee liqueur and 1 shot almond liqueur into the glass. Fill it with hot coffee and top with whipped cream. Repeat for every guest.
