(NC) - If you and your children are planning to paint some eggs this Easter,
Easter Eggs And Food Safety
the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) would like you to be aware of the following food safety tips:

  1. Hard-boil eggs and cool them immediately.
  2. If you plan to eat the eggs, do not colour ones that have cracked shells.
  3. Use a colouring dye that is non-toxic.
  4. Store the coloured eggs in a covered container in the refrigerator until you need them.
  5. Do not eat decorated Easter eggs that have been out of the refrigerator for more than two hours at room temperature.
