Easter Sculptures Have Real Kid Appeal

Contributed by: News Canada

(NC) - Looking for something fun to do with your kids this Easter? Look no further! Five Roses Flour is just the right ingredient to create holiday-clay-dough sculptures you and your family will love to make together. Using the easy-to-follow recipe and decorating instructions provided below by Five Roses, you'll keep your kids entertained for hours.

Making your sculptures is as easy as mixing dough!

  • 4 cups Five Roses All Purpose Flour (1.0 L)
  • 1 cup Salt (250 ml)
  • 1 1/2 cups Water (375ml)

(Do not double or halve the recipe)

Mix the flour, salt and water together in a bowl. Squeeze the dough until it is smooth. If the clay-dough starts to crumble, wet it with a little water. If the dough gets too wet, sprinkle it with flour and squeeze again. User fresh clay-dough within 4 hours or store it in a plastic bag until you are ready to model your sculpture.

Oven dry for at least 1 hour at 225F (110C). Thicker pieces may take longer to bake. Let your sculptures cool off, then paint them with bright colours. Remember to protect your creations by coating them 2 or 3 times with clear nail polish after the paint is dry.
