Christmas Tree Cake

This tasty recipe is one example of how soymilk can be used in everyday foods.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package cake mix (any flavour)
  • 2 tubs vanilla frosting
    Christmas Tree Cake
  • Green food color
  • Large yellow gumdrop
  • Decorating gel
  • Candies
  • Chocolate-coated butter toffee bar

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 F (180 C). Grease and flour rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches (33x23x5 cm). Make cake mix as directed on package; pour into pan. Bake as directed. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool cake completely.

Christmas Tree Cake
Cover large tray or piece of cardboard with aluminum foil or wrapping paper. Cut cake as shown in diagram. Arrange cake pieces 1 and 2 on tray as shown in diagram. Frost top of cake pieces 1 and 2. Place cake piece 3 on top; if necessary, trim cake edges. Frost sides and top of cake; dip fork into food color and draw through frosting to look like tree branches.

Flatten yellow gumdrop; cut into star shape. Decorate tree with decorating gel and candies. Insert bar in end of cake to make trunk. Store loosely covered.
