Chocolate-Macaroon Bars

  • 1 pkg added touch chocolate,
  • 1 devil's food or deep
  • 1 chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 can (300ml) sweetened condensed
  • 1 milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cup desiccated coconut


Preheat oven to 350 F (180C).

Lightly grease a 9x13 inch cake pan.

Empty cake mix into a bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in butter. Stir in egg with a fork until crumbly. Press crumbs into prepared pan. Combine sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and coconut.

Spread over base.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden. Cool completely. Cut into bars.

Serving Size: Makes 36 bars
