Caramel Nut Popcorn

Fill colourful tins with this delicious homemade treat for an inexpensive holiday gift both kids and adults will enjoy receiving.


  • 12 cups 3 L popped popcorn
  • 2 cups 500 mL mixed nuts or peanuts
  • 1 cup 250 mL packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup 125 mL BEEHIVE or CROWN Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 cup 125 mL butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp 2 mL salt
  • 1/2 tsp 2 mL vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp 2 mL baking soda


Spray large roasting pan with MAZOLA NO STICK Cooking Spray. Combine popcorn and nuts in pan; place in 250°F (120°C) oven while preparing glaze.

In saucepan combine brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt. Stirring constantly bring to boil over medium heat. Without stirring boil 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and baking soda.

Pour over popcorn and nuts; stirring to coat.

Place in preheated oven 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cool; break apart. Store in tightly covered container.

Tip: One large size bag of microwave popcorn pops to about 12 cups (3 L).

To Make This Recipe Suitable For A Gluten Free Diet:

Replace Beehive or Crown corn syrup with gluten-free corn syrup.

Serving Size: Makes about 14 cups (3.5 L)
