Burgers with Bacardi Onions

  • 2 tbsp 30 mL butter or margarine
  • 3 cups 750 mL sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup 125 mL Bacardi white, amber or "1873" rum
  • 1 tsp 5 mL sugar
  • 1/4 tsp 1 mL salt, freshly ground pepper


Cook hamburgers your favourite way. Add Bacardi Onions to taste.

In heavy skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add onions and saute about 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Add rum, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring until liquid evaporates.

Serving Size: Makes 2 cups (500 mL).
