(NC) - Appetizer meatballs go uptown with a tasty sweet-and-sour glaze that makes them shine like gems and taste equally precious.

  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) Realemon* Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup (250 mL) Welch’s Grape Jelly
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
  • 1 lb (500 g) frozen cooked meatballs
  • 1 can (14 fl oz/398 mL) pineapple chunks packed with juice, well drained

Combine Realemon*, Welch’s Grape Jelly, barbecue sauce, soy sauce and pepper in large saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until bubbly.

Stir in meatballs. Boil gently 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through and sauce is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.

Stir in pineapple; heat through. Serve hot.

Realemon* Entertaining Tips

To keep fruit, such as apples, pears, peaches and bananas (or potatoes) from turning brown when cut, brush the pieces with Realemon*, or dip them into a mixture of Realemon* and water.

If apples are overly sweet or mild, sprinkling them with a little Realemon* or Realime* before making a pie or crisp will ensure a great tart dessert.

Liven up beverages, such as tea, cola drinks, apple juice, fruit nectars or carbonated water by adding a few drops of Realemon* or Realime*.
