Or, if you’re time-crunched during the holiday season - or just don’t feel like
cooking - head out to a restaurant or order take-out.
- 2 racks of back ribs (24-30
oz. a rack)
- 2 oz. rib spice
- 2 cups water
oven to 300°F
Spice ribs on both sides liberally with rib spice (see below for recipe).

caramelizes, and serve.
Pork Rib Spice
- 2 tblsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 2 tblsp. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 2 tblsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp. black pepper
Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl, cover and store in a sealed container. It can then be frozen for future use or stored on a pantry shelf.
