During the carefree holidays, we all indulged in some treats. Perhaps it was the frosted sprinkle-covered sugar cookies or your mother-in-law’s calorific pumpkin pie, and now millions of Americans are kicking off the New Year with a resolution to shed some pounds.
But they don’t have to deny themselves of the sweets they love. The folks at Knouse Foods are helping people beat the post-holiday blues by offering recipes for delicious treats - minus the guilt and calories. Whether dieting or not; they promise you won’t miss the fattening ingredients or taste.
Spoon LUCKY LEAF Lite Cherry Pie Filling into individual dessert dishes; set aside. In blender, combine MUSSELMAN’S Unsweetened Apple Sauce, yogurt and brown sugar. Cover and blend until smooth.
In a small sauce pan, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over MUSSELMAN’S Apple Juice. Let stand for one minute. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin is completely dissolved. With blender running, gradually add gelatin mixture to apple sauce - yogurt mixture, blending well. Pour mixture over pie filling in individual dessert dishes.
Cover and refrigerate until set (at least 2 hours). Garnish with fresh strawberries just before serving.
