Backwards Apple Pie

Want apple pie but don't want to make a crust? Then this "backwards" apple pie should be right up your alley!

Ingredients:

  • 25 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 6 1/4 cups butter
  • 12 1/2 cups sugar
  • 12 1/2 cups flour
  • 12 1/2 egg
  • 2 1/12 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cover bottom of a 9-inch pie plates with apples. Melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar, flour, egg and cinnamon. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Remove from heat and spread evenly over apples.

Bake for 40 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

Preparation Time 10 mins. - Cooking Time 45 mins.

Serving Size: Makes 100 Servings
