Chocolate-Caramel Goober Sundae

Contributed by: NAPSA

Seen Any Good Movies Lately? (NAPSA) - Whether you enjoy going to the movie theater or watching DVDs in the comfort of your home, there are a number of ways to enhance the movie-watching experience. Russ Leatherman (also known as Mr. Moviefone), the founder and voice of the Moviefone movie information service, offers the following hints:

Chocolate-Caramel Goober Sundae
Throw a Movie Theme Party

Whether you're entertaining guests, planning something fun for the family or having a quiet evening for two, there are advantages to watching movies at home, such as creating a mood or meal to suit your film of choice. Once you've selected a movie, invite some friends and create a meal to match; say, a "Goodfellas"-inspired Italian feast, a "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" Chinese take-out night or "Sideways" wine and cheese tasting. Encourage guests to be creative and dress the part.

A Sweet Treat

Instead of the traditional movie snacks, popcorn and candy, try making something new. Leatherman suggests a fun treat inspired by his favorite movie theater concession stand snack, his Chocolate-Caramel Goober Sundae. You can improvise by adding favorite ingredients or try creating your own movie theater-inspired snack.

  • 1 scoop dulce de leche or premium vanilla ice cream
  • Warm chocolate sauce
  • Warm orange-caramel sauce
  • Whole and crushed Goobers
  • Lightly sweetened, softly whipped cream

Place ice cream in a large wine glass or small bowl. Drizzle it generously with chocolate sauce and orange-caramel sauce and sprinkle with whole Goobers. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed Goobers on top.

Then get ready to watch your favorite DVD.

Go Online for Movie Info

The Web can be a very useful tool in selecting a film, getting movie theater information and tickets and providing fun features. Sites such as let moviegoers read reviews from all the major film critics and watch exclusive extended scenes and trailers so they can decide what movie is best for them. The site also offers behind-the-scenes video features, movie star interviews, games and a Family Film Guide so parents can make sure content is appropriate for younger viewers. In addition, fans of short films can check out the site's Short Film Festival.

Movies a Mouse-Click Away

Finally, movie fans who prefer to stay home and watch DVDs can save time and money by joining an online DVD rental service. Movie and Blockbuster Online eliminate late fees and time spent in the video store by offering a subscription service that provides unlimited rentals at a low monthly fee. The DVDs are delivered right to your front door.
