1-Dish Peach Streusel

Contributed by: News Canada

Recipe Quick Tip: Mix and bake a quick dessert in the same baking dish (NC) - Recipes for scrumptious meals, mixed and baked in one dish, are now at your fingertips online at After a long busy day, a piping hot homemade dish, or dessert, can be on the table quickly and with far less fuss.

1-Dish Peach Streusel
Make the Chili Cornbread Bake, for example, with Tex-Mex flavours. It's a hearty meal of spongy moist cornbread with a perfectly spiced chili bean blend. Or, serve up a one-dish dessert such as Peach Streusel or Cinnamon Swirl Bake. On the website you'll find countless choices under the new name, 1-Dish Mix & Bake - and at the heart of every recipe is fresh baked bread.

Indeed, the addition of a fresh bread component into a casserole, or dessert, is seen as a breakthrough in cooking. It is only possible now, say the baking experts at Fleischmann's, because of the unique properties attributed to quick-rise yeast. In some of the 1-Dish recipes, the bread appears like that of an open-faced sandwich. Other times, with a topping, it resembles dumplings, and other recipes produce a sweet and firm coffeecake texture. With each one though the simple aroma of the meal baking in the oven is enough to lure even the fussiest eaters directly to your kitchen.
