Apple Cheddar Breakfast Bagel

Contributed by: News Canada

Kid-sized portion tips for lunches and snacks (NC) - Children's portions are smaller than adult portions. The lunch experts at Wonder offer these tips to help you plan kid-sized lunches and snacks.

    Apple Cheddar Breakfast Bagel

  • Pack ready-made snacks. Pack healthy, bite-size snacks into a baggie, such as baby carrots, grapes, cherry tomatoes or crackers.

  • Make mini sandwiches. Use a cookie-cutter to create fun but smaller-sized sandwiches, or use a kid-friendly 85 g (3 oz) Wonder+ Square Bagel instead of a regular 112 g (4 oz) bagel.

  • Buy single-serve products. Pack one individual juice box or applesauce, and select unsweetened or low-sugar products. Some stores sell smaller, child-size products - a great choice for little ones.

  • Follow the nutrition table on the package. Recommended serving sizes are a good way to decide how much to pack or serve. If the table states three crackers, serve your child three crackers.
