Grocery store sliced raisin, fruit or egg bread works beautifully in this recipe. If you are lucky enough to have homemade or fresh bakery breads, be sure to slice the same thickness as purchased bread. Ingredients:
Directions: Spread both sides of each slice of bread with the softened butter. Heat a grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Grill buttered bread slices on each side for about 1 minute, or until golden brown. Place one slice of grilled bread on each of 4 serving plates. Scoop ice cream, dividing evenly, and place one scoop on each grilled bread slice. Top with some of the strawberries, and dust with icing sugar. Serve immediately. Serving Size: Makes 4 Servings Nutritional Information: Per serving: 424 calories, 7 g protein, 24 g fat, 45 g carbohydrate |
