Basic Sauteed Mushrooms Recipe

Mushrooms: A super side dish with any meal (NC) - Whatever you choose for your favorite meal, be it beef, chicken, pasta or veggies, add flavour with mushrooms as the super side dish! Locally grown all year round, fresh Ontario Mushrooms are a tasty treat with any meal. And, they are quick and easy to prepare and serve.

Basic Sauteed Mushrooms Recipe
Simply saute mushrooms, in a frying pan, sliced or whole. Add extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary and thyme. Sauteed mushrooms are ready in five minutes.

For a unique, tasty treat, saute a portabella mushroom in butter and minced garlic for a tasty pita sandwich.

Try this simple saute recipe below. Feel free to add any extra herbs or spices to the pan to increase the flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz Fresh Ontario Mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or Canola Oil

Directions:

Using a non-stick fry pan or skillet, be sure to grease the pan or skillet if necessary. Slice mushrooms and place in frying pan. Add 2 tablespoons of either olive oil or canola oil. Wait until mushrooms have turned to brown and tender.

Place mushrooms on side of plate, on a burger, or in pasta.
